So what’s been going on?

Well, we had a great sale! Thanks to everyone who came in and saved a bunch of money and thanks to all of our FIRST TIME PAWN SHOP CUSTOMERS! We totally enjoy all the regulars who have known for years that you can save a lot of money by checking out Glendale Pawn and Jewelry and we are DELIGHTED to see a whole new bunch of customers who have…(drum roll please)…NEVER been to a pawn shop before!

Obama Shops at Glendale Pawn and Jewelry-Maybe

President Obama Shops at Glendale Pawn and Jewelry-Maybe

(In case you missed it, we created a BIG series of promotional graphics for our sale…this one actually made it on the Facebook page of a certain Presidential candidate…)

So what’s bringing all the new customers into our shop? Uh, is it because pawn shops are now mainstream?

(We’ve covered this before in “The Blog-View”)?

Well, I’m sure that has a lot to do with it.

But why is Glendale Pawn and Jewelry so popular for a first time pawn shop visit?

According to a brief and unscientific survey of our first time pawn visitors, folks get a nice “warm and comfy” feeling from our website, (www.arizonapawnshops.com) which is usually the first stop for someone planning their first visit to a pawn shop. Now according to our new customers, if you look at all the other pawn shop websites out there you’ll notice that ours is a bit different. We have something new every day which brings our repeat visitor numbers up real high. We also have a lot to see and do on our website. You can shop, you can read the blog (Like you’re doing right now) you can see our latest videos…there’s just a LOT going on ALL the time.

We’ve also designed our website to have the feel of going over to a friend’s house and hanging out. As one first time visitor described it, “Your website is like a really comfy place…you feel like you’re welcome and you also feel like you can just be yourself.”

Note to our veteran customers: Gee, kind of sounds like coming to Glendale Pawn and Jewelry in person?

Okay, what else has been going on?

Well, we were on KPHO TV5 recently. Heather Moore and her camera operator Sean did a really nice story on some Civil War letters that we have in the shop and also covered a bit about how pawn shops are rather mainstream now. If you missed it, shame on you…but here’s a link to our story: http://www.kpho.com/story/16398428/letters

Have you gotten in any trouble recently?

Uh…well…sorta…maybe. You see I monitor pretty much everything on the Internet News that covers anything to do with Pawn Shops. Recently we discovered a group of critics on a well known discussion board and they were doing everything they could to keep the “Stigma” of pawn shops alive. Now all of us here at Glendale Pawn and Jewelry work VERY HARD every single day to change the way people view pawn shops and to lump everyone in the pawn industry together and punish all of us for the transgressions of a very small group who really shouldn’t be in the business in the first place (gpawn pauses to catch his breath for a moment…)…well…let’s just say gpawn felt compelled to add his voice to the mix.

(Stan reacts to finding out that our sale graphic made it to a certain Presidential candidates Facebook page…)

Oh no…what did you say?

As usual, I was the consummate professional and behaved in a civil and polite manner, although in retrospect, I may have used the phrase “Poor misguided souls” (Or something similar), at one point in the “conversation”…I really don’t remember.  Sadly, nobody felt like posting after my comments were published and apparently the matter was resolved at that at that particular point in time.

So what’s coming up?

Video! Video! Video! We’re launching a “Video special of the week!” beginning 1.17.2012! You’re going to see video of some items that are sale priced and available ONLY on our website. The savings are unbelievable and we might also have some “Guest stars” once in awhile. Definitely worth checking out!

Any final thoughts?

Sure… “We’re glad you’re here!”
