Well, since it seems to be gpawn’s primary task to keep our loyal readers current with all the modern and hip things going on in this world of ours, let me tell you what one of the BIGGEST stories of 2011 happened to be. Are you ready for this? Well, here it is…

Pawnshops became “MAINSTREAM” in 2011.

So what is MAINSTREAM? Well, according to the dictionary, here’s what it means:

belonging to or characteristic of a principal, dominant, or widely accepted group, movement, style, etc.: mainstream politicians; a mainstream artist.

Essentially, Pawn Shops are now WIDELY ACCEPTED. (Goodness, it feels good to suddenly be “widely accepted”!)

Yup, according to MSNBC, CBS, The Wall Street Journal and numerous other “mainstream” media outlets, pawn shops are now MAINSTREAM.

To those of you who have been saving a bunch of money over the last 25+ years by shopping at Glendale Pawn and Jewelry…this is NOT a new development.
