Okay loyal readers, if you haven’t heard…Glendale Pawn and Jewelry did this little video called, “You need to keep it local!” (It’s on the front page of our website www.arizonapawnshops.com and also in our new “Pawnshop Stories” video category in case you haven’t seen it yet.) The video is our contribution to the rapidly growing Buy Local movement. Here at Glendale Pawn and Jewelry, we believe that keeping as much of our money within our community during this holiday season (As well as during the rest of the year) is critically important in these tough economic times. One of the reasons we created the video is that Glendale Pawn and Jewelry is not your typical “Pawn Shop”. We’re active in our community. We care about our community and we work hard every day to change the perception that people have of pawn shops.
We’re very proud of the fact that we’ve made significant strides in changing the perception of pawn shops in general. Glendale Pawn and Jewelry works hard every day to continue to change this perception. (Please see our previous blog posting Pawn shops…don’t they have a kind of “reputation”? for some background on this topic) It feels good when people come to our shop and we hear, “Wow, I REALLY wasn’t expecting THAT!” What they weren’t expecting was a spotlessly clean store, a staff that bends over backwards to make sure that our customers are repeat customers and the savings of 30% – 60% on top quality Jewelry, Electronics, Home Entertainment and tools. We even have an amazing selection of musical instruments and collectibles. “If you’re looking for it…we probably have it.”, is not an exaggeration.
We’ve really had some great reviews of our “You need to keep it local” video and people seem to be impressed that something so funny can still deliver the buy local message. The most common review of our “You need to keep it Local” video has been, “Wow, I REALLY wasn’t expecting THAT!” Well, what you see is what you get. We’re Glendale Pawn and Jewelry and we’re real people, helping real people in our very real community.
This same review has been extended to our website, www.arizonapawnshops.com and to our somewhat famous blog when people take a little “Online Detour” and visit us for the first time. “Wow, I REALLY wasn’t expecting THAT!” is what we hear most frequently. The reason for this may extend to the fact that we put a lot of effort into our images/design and we made the decision early on that we would do our best not to bore people with our blog. (How many times can you really enjoy a Top 10 list or some rehashed posts from some other blog?) “The Blog – View” has been called many things, but dull, boring and easily ignored have not made the list.
Many times people are asked, “Why do you do what you do…what keeps you happy in your job/career” For those of us at Glendale Pawn and Jewelry it’s really quite simple. It’s fun here. It’s satisfying. We LOVE helping people and it shows.
Oh yeah, hearing, “Wow, I REALLY wasn’t expecting THAT”…just makes it even that much better.
