“Wow! There’s lots of stuff to talk about!”

Yes! We survived! The “summer without end” is ALMOST in the proverbial “Rear-view mirror”! Oh sure, we’ll  have a couple of irritatingly hot days yet,  but from a psychological standpoint the good citizens of the “Valley of the Sun” can feel comfortable from knowing in their sun burnt hearts that the end is at hand.

Gpawn’s personal “Summer of 2011 low-points:

Burning his hand on the BBQ grille BEFORE it was turned on.

The wonderful feeling when getting into the car at the end of the day and noticing that the engine temperature gauge is at mid point…and the car has not been started all day.

Trying to enjoy coffee on the patio in the early morning…at 95F degrees, which provokes the inevitable musical question, “Does it EVER cool off anymore?”

A tragic home air conditioning failure on the day that the forecast high was to be 119F degrees…
…and other mild irritants that are too numerous to mention.

Okay, it’s cooling off and guess what? You need some stuff! We have a great selection of flat-screen televisions right now, an amazing assortment of jewelry…as always…and the usual surprises that you’ve come to expect from Glendale Pawn and Jewelry. Oh yeah, we still have the terribly scary, “Cymbal banging monkey” that is freaking out some staff members. (Sorry if you’re tired of hearing about this thing, but he REALLY needs to find a good home…soon) In order to help this spooky little guy get on with his life, gpawn has just recently posted a list of sci-fi movies that feature, freaky, cymbal banging monkeys (You cannot miss amazing list)…tis’ impressive to say the least and you can peruse the list by clicking on his photo or by clicking…-HERE- So now you can have something in your home that is proven to give advance warning in case of a space- alien invasion. Pretty cheap insurance if you think about it…

The Internet Special Ring Sale continues this month. Amazing low prices (-50%) on some gorgeous rings and you’re certain to find something that makes you go…WOW! Don’t know your ring size? No worries, you can download a handy chart from our jewelry page that will be a big help.

Short on cash? (Who isn’t these days? Oh yeah, hedge fund managers, celebrities, politicians…uh we don’t have any of those here…) Well… don’t forget that we have a GREAT LAY-A-WAY program that can help ease you into the holiday season. With all the money gpawn stuffed into his A/C system this summer, you can bet he’s going to be first in line to sock away some cool stuff so that Santa doesn’t show up this year with an empty bag. (I hate to be the first one to mention this, but the holiday season is not that far away…we’re not hanging decorations yet or any such nonsense, just stating a fact)

Our lay-a-way plans are simple. All we ask is for a down payment of up to 20% (depending on the merchandise category) to hold the item and then you pay us what you can on a monthly basis until the balance is settled. When your item is paid for in full, it’s yours to keep. Simple! Our one restriction is if the item is from our electronics department (or for the most part, anything that has a plug), the item must be paid for and claimed within three months. Technology just changes so quickly on these items that we like to be sure you’re still going to be happy with what you’ve agreed to purchase.

What else? The topic of giving back to the community came up the other day and gpawn expressed his desire to publicize all the very good things that Glendale Pawn and Jewelry contributes to…locally. So, in the next few issues of “The Blog View” we’re going to talk a bit about giving back. This is not to pat ourselves on the back, but to perhaps inspire our loyal readers to consider getting involved, if they are not already, with a deserving non-profit organization.

This is important to us. If you’ve been reading our little online publication for awhile now (this is issue #34…which we find amazing) you know that we’re FIRM believers in, “WE are all in this TOGETHER”.
It’s rough “out there”. You know it, we know it, it’s all over the news…we’re reminded every minute that people need jobs, money is tight…the list is long.  One of our first blog posts involved a movie review that contained the phrase, “Be excellent to each other”. Incredibly that search phrase is STILL one of the major methods for people to find us here at, “The Blog View”. It’s a pretty simple phrase with a pretty BIG impact and apparently quite a bit of truth to it.

So until next time…be excellent to each other and you KNOW…we’re glad that you’re here,
