(Of course if you’ve been listening to the media, the recession is over and we’re in a period of “recovery”…uh, if you’ve been out of work and looking for a job we don’t have to tell you that this “recovery” is progressing at the blazing speed of…”crawl”… perhaps?)
The fact that we’re hiring should be news. The fact that ANYBODY is hiring should be news.
Over these last many months we’ve been privileged to come in contact with a great number of people. In addition to our fantastic customers, we’ve met with members of the media, advertising people, consultants and all types of folks whose business is…business. They’re all great people and they all have one thing in common…even if they don’t know it.
Now you’re probably asking yourself right about now, “So gpawn…what is this common denominator?”

Truth = Glendale Pawn and Jewelry IS a really fun place to work…but as is often the case…there’s more to the story.

We loan money to people quickly and without hassle. Life is full of unexpected “surprises” such as sudden medical bills, car repairs and things around the house that for no apparent reason…decide to breakdown at the absolute WORST possible time. At the end of the day there is a certain satisfaction here that doesn’t come from moving numbers around on a computer screen. We don’t do intangible things like projecting profit and/or loss for hypothetical “companies” that exist only on paper and then deciding if we should bet on a win or loss for something that really doesn’t even exist.
Nope…we help people…and at the end of the day we feel really good about what we do. We get to experience the results of our work in an immediate and VERY tangible way. We have the smiles of our customers firmly etched into our memory and we go home with the feeling that in some small way…maybe we really DID make a positive difference in the world?
